Kabaka Birthday Run 2026 Launched to Strengthen Fight Against HIV/AIDS in Uganda

The Kabaka Birthday Run 2026 is set to take place on 12 April 2026 at Lubiri Palace in Mengo, Kampala, bringing together thousands of participants for one of Uganda’s largest annual charity runs.

Organized by the Buganda Kingdom, the run celebrates the birthday of Kabaka Ronald Muwenda Mutebi II while raising awareness about critical public health issues.

Theme and Cause

The 2026 theme is:
“Men Against HIV/AIDS to Save the Girl Child and End HIV/AIDS by 2030.”

The campaign encourages men to take an active role in HIV prevention, testing, treatment, and supporting efforts to protect the girl child and reduce new HIV infections across Uganda.

A Major Community Event

The Kabaka Birthday Run has grown into one of the country’s biggest community events, attracting over 100,000 participants annually, including families, athletes, corporate organizations, and international visitors.

Beyond the run itself, the event serves as a platform for health awareness, community mobilization, and social impact, reinforcing Uganda’s commitment to ending HIV/AIDS by 2030.
