Safari Itinerary

Day 1 – Arrival in Nairobi

Transfer: Jomo Kenyatta International Airport → Hotel | ±30 minutes

Upon arrival at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, complete immigration and customs formalities. Exit the terminal where your professional safari guide will warmly welcome you. Transfer to your hotel for leisure and overnight rest.

Overnight: Eka Hotel, Nairobi

Day 2 – Nairobi → Lake Nakuru National Park

Drive: ±3.5 hours | 170 km

After breakfast and a short safari briefing, depart Nairobi and descend into the Great Rift Valley, stopping at scenic viewpoints along the escarpment. Arrive at Lake Nakuru National Park in time for lunch. In the afternoon, enjoy a game drive through the park's diverse habitats, home to flamingos, over 450 bird species, black and white rhinos, lions, Rothschild giraffes, buffalo, and leopards. Visit Baboon Cliff for panoramic lake views.

Overnight: Flamingo Hill Camp

Day 3 – Lake Nakuru → Lake Bogoria (Excursion) → Lake Elementaita

Drive: ±6 hours round trip | 300 km

After an early breakfast, depart for Lake Bogoria National Reserve, famous for its geothermal hot springs and geysers. Enjoy walks near the steaming springs, spot flamingos and waterbirds, and look out for Greater Kudu and other dry-country wildlife. A picnic lunch is served before returning south to Lake Elementaita, arriving in the early evening with views of the Sleeping Warrior Hill.

Day 4 – Lake Elementaita → Maasai Mara Game Reserve

Drive: ±5.5 hours | 255 km

After breakfast, depart for the legendary Maasai Mara, passing wheat plantations and Maasai settlements, with a stop in Narok town. Arrive at your camp for lunch and rest before an afternoon game drive across the vast savannah in search of the Big Five and abundant plains game.

Overnight: Mara Base Camp

Day 5 – Maasai Mara

Begin the day with an early morning game drive, one of the best times to spot predators. Return to camp for lunch and leisure. In the afternoon, enjoy a guided walking safari followed by a visit to a Maasai village, learning about traditional lifestyles, livestock culture, and coexistence with wildlife.

Day 6 – Maasai Mara (Full Day Safari)

Spend the entire day exploring deeper sections of the Maasai Mara with a picnic lunch. Depending on the season, witness the Great Wildebeest Migration, large lion prides, cheetahs, elephants, giraffes, hippos, and vast herds of plains game. In the evening, enjoy a special bush barbecue dinner under the African sky.

Day 7 – Maasai Mara → Lake Naivasha

Drive: ±5 hours | 235 km

After breakfast, depart for Lake Naivasha. Arrive in time for lunch and relaxation. In the afternoon, enjoy a boat safari among hippos and waterbirds, followed by a guided walking safari on Crescent Island, where wildlife roams freely. The landscape recalls scenes from the classic film Out of Africa.

Overnight: Great Rift Valley Lodge

Lodge Highlight: Elevated views over Lake Naivasha with colonial charm and tranquil surroundings.

Day 8 – Lake Naivasha → Nairobi ✈ Entebbe (Uganda)

Drive: Naivasha → Nairobi | ±2.5 hours | 100 km
Flight: Nairobi → Entebbe | ±2 hours

After breakfast, drive back to Nairobi and transfer to Jomo Kenyatta International Airport for your evening regional flight to Entebbe. Upon arrival, meet your Ugandan guide and transfer to your hotel near Lake Victoria.

Overnight: The Boma Hotel Entebbe or Similar

Hotel Highlight: Charming boutique hotel with colonial-style décor and peaceful gardens.

Day 9 – Shoebill Safari on Lake Victoria

Drive: Entebbe → Mabamba Swamp | ±1 hour each way | 40 km

Early morning departure to Mabamba Swamp for a guided canoe excursion through papyrus channels in search of the rare shoebill. Return to Entebbe late morning. The afternoon is free to relax at the hotel or enjoy the lakeside environment.

Overnight: The Boma Hotel Entebbe

Day 10 – Entebbe → Bwindi Impenetrable Forest

Choose your preferred transfer option:

Option A – Domestic Flight (Extra Cost):

Flight time ±1.5 hours, followed by a short road transfer.

Option B – Scenic Road Transfer:

Drive ±7–8 hours | ±460 km through rolling hills, tea plantations, and rural villages.

Arrive at your lodge in the late afternoon for rest and preparation for gorilla trekking.

Overnight: Ichumbi Gorilla Lodge or Similar

Meals: Full Board

Lodge Highlight: Comfortable lodge close to the park headquarters with forest views and warm hospitality.

Day 11 – Gorilla Trekking & Batwa Cultural Experience

After an early breakfast, attend a briefing at park headquarters before beginning your guided mountain gorilla trek. Trekking can take between 2 and 6 hours, followed by one unforgettable hour with a gorilla family. In the afternoon, visit the Batwa community to learn about their traditional forest-based lifestyle through storytelling and demonstrations.

Overnight: Ichumbi Gorilla Lodge

Meals: Full Board

Day 12 – Bwindi → Entebbe – Departure

Return to Entebbe either by domestic flight (extra cost) or by scenic road transfer (±8–9 hours | ±500 km). Arrival is scheduled in time for your onward international flight. A late evening departure from Entebbe is recommended.
